Ten years ago it was Cecil the lion, killed by Walter Palmer, the dentist. Cecil was lured out of a protected area with bait.
This time it was Blondie the lion who was lured out of a protected area and killed by a trophy hunter. Both lions were wearing research collars and were part of a study.

This time the authorities are defending the killing and calling it legal. They have been very careful to protect the name of the lion killer.
Some countries in Africa have banned commercial hunting. Zimbabwe is not one of them. They make money off the killing so they support it.
There is something so ugly about trophy hunting. You have to wonder what kind of people are still doing it.
