Server jumps into the ocean to save a baby raccoon
#1
A server at a BC waterfront pub saw a baby raccoon drowning in the ocean. She didn't hesitate. She went into the water and got him.
She then went on to finish her shift. Her husband came with dry clothes and first aid training to help the little raccoon. He was cold and wet and half drowned. Tammy with Coastal Wildlife Rescue came and got the raccoon got him through the first night. Then she transported him to Critter Care Wildlife Rescue in Vancouver. She flew by float plane with Harbour Air. The flight was free because that is what Harbour Air does to help wildlife. All rescue missions fly free.
The little raccoon is doing well at the Critter Care Wildlife Rescue. He is a 7 week old male and is being bottle fed and doing very well.

The server has received much praise and thanks and even bouquets of flowers.
People have offered to pay for the raccoon's care.

It is not just someone rescuing an animal in trouble, it is a whole lot of people showing that they care and doing their part. If you think about, it the whole rescue was a team of people. Crystal is the one who actually went into the water, but everyone else followed up. Really, the first person to see the raccoon in the water, who mentioned it to Crystal, got it started. It is beautiful how everyone did what they could and cared for one little lost raccoon who was in serious trouble.
People are still wanting to know that he is okay. This is the good side of humanity and it is good to  know that it is there.
