Baby elephant rescued from well

A baby elephant fell in a well and the mom couldn't help her.

The Amboseli Trust for Elephants workers came to the rescue.





I love the sight of the little one running back to mom after she is free from the well.
The reunion is sweet.

What a lovely family reunion. The Mum was certainly very protective of the baby, but had to be driven away so they could help. The work they do is just fantastic.

I love how fast she ran and how fast the mom ran. I assume that the medium sized elephant is an older sibling. It was a beautiful reunion.

This is a wonderful rescue. The mother obviously was very glad to have her baby back and knew well what was happening, I think.

Elephants are very intelligent. They also know when humans are their friends. If the mom had not trusted the humans she would never have stepped away from her baby. Mother elephants are even more protective than mother bears, if that is possible.
