Gadhimai: New petition to have the slaughter stopped in the future.
#1
The "festival" of Gadhimai has now finished for 2014. To read about it, see http://www.animalloverswebforum.com/show...p?tid=1018

Thanks to Janay's post (see below), we know that a petition is being organised now, to prevent the repetition of this blood bath in five years' time. Please read and sign if you wish to make your views known about this terrible and cruel "festival" of sacrifice.

It is very important that people around the world continue to make their disgust and sadness of this festival known to the Nepalese Government, even now, as this is the only way that the world can stop this from taking place again.
CIWF have made another petition, calling on the Nepalese Government to make sure that the 2014 festival was the LAST in history:

Thank-you for setting this up LPC and thank-you to Janay for making us aware Gadhimai.

I think we really do have to stay vigilant for the next five years if we don't want to see the slaughter happen again. As we come across petitions and protests we can add out voices to them. I have alerts on my phone and email so I should get some information from time to time.

The goal is to stop Gadhimai and ultimately stop all forms of animal sacrifice. If this big one can be stopped then hopefully all sacrifices can be stopped. It is a goal to work for.

Hi guys.
I've been working a lot over the past few days so I've only just seen the suggestion to make this a new thread. Thank you for doing this LPC. :-) And thank you to everyone so far for signing!

If we all work together around the world who knows what we can accomplish. Keeping this alive by posting updates helps get the message out to people. The new thread is a good idea. It makes it clear that we are following to ongoing issue.

I imagine there will be many petitions to different groups over the next five years. Keeping the animals from being transported across the border from India was a big help this time. I am sure there will be other ways to stop the next slaughter from happening.
