Road closed for Salamander crossing
#1
I came across this article and I was delighted to learn that for the third year in a row, the road is closed off so that the salamanders can cross the road safely and lay their eggs. How amazing is that!

It shows a respect for nature that is truly admirable.
Even better, they plan to take the road out altogether so the salamanders will be permanently safe.

Way to go Kitchener!Smiley32

Salamanders are such nice little things.

Sometimes humans can be incredible. This is happy news.

The plans to permanently close the road are really good news. That means the Salamanders can recover their numbers. We have so few reptiles and amphibians this far north. We really need to look after them.

It is heartening that people are taking conservation seriously.
