Manatee Resue

A group of Manatees swam into a Florida storm drain and got stuck. It seems they are curious creatures and they do things like this. If the water rises they would be drowned so a team of rescuers worked to free them.

I love a happy ending. Manatees are such gentle creatures that we really do need to look out for them. Maybe they need to put something over the storm drain to keep the Manatees out. They are bog so it wouldn't take much.

I am so glad they worked hard and got them out, and released back to the water. The Manatees must have been so confused in the storm drain.

The city has put gates up to stop it happening again, so it said at the very end. That's good.

Manatees are funny creatures. They swam into the drains with no though of how to get out. They are so big they got stuck and none of them could turn around. I understand they can't swim backwards.

It is a good thing people look after them. They hang around people because we sometimes have warmer water. I understand that they like the waters around power plants because it is warmer.

It is actually pretty clever of them. The waters can get cold during a bad winter. They like it warm.
