That just made me smile and cry at the same time. Most people don't even consider a shelter when they decide to have a pet. It makes such a difference to the animals life and the love they give unconditionally is so special.

The shelters are full of wonderful dogs just waiting for a chance to be the best dog ever.

Maybe shelters need to display their dogs better. Certainly having them placed at pet stores really helps. So do big Adoptathons. Sometimes people who want a dog just need to know that the dog is there.
