Peacock on the loose in Toronto
#1
There is a little mini zoo with a few animals in High park, not too far from my place. One of their Peacocks got loose. He has been on the run(or fly) ever since. They have not been able to catch him. It is summer and he is doing just fine.

So who knows maybe some morning I will find him resting on my deck.

There is an interesting video of the bird. You get to see it flying.

Last I heard the bird was still out there. Although with the rain we are having he might consider turning himself in.

It seems the Peacock has disappeared. He is a pretty big bird to just disappear like that. Of course it has been raining very hard. He may have hidden somewhere dry and as soon as the sun comes out he will be seen in flight again.

The sight of him flying is amazing. He would have to fly a few miles to reach my place, but I can hope.

No doubt they are right and he has turned back and is in High Park again. It is a big park. Big enough to hide a peacock anyhow.

I hope he will be okay out there. No doubt he is having lots of fun but will probably find it a bit scary at times out in Toronto on his own. Part of him may wish he'd stayed put! Also he's unlikely to find anyone of his own kind out there...
Maybe it would be sensible if he turned himself in.

I have never ever seen a Peacock in flight before!

He is a very handsome specimen. Hope he finds his way "home".

Such beautiful birds. I hope he finds his way safely home.

Often get pheasants here. They are beautiful birds too. Had three males in the garden the other week. A rare sight at this time of year, as usually they fight each other for mating rights and all that.

It looks like the peacock is heading for home.

People didn't know peacocks can fly.

He is now heading away from my place. Sigh, it is for the best. He will be safer back home, but I would love to have had him in my garden even for a little while.

Now you have seen the videos you know what my area looks like. The houses are all much the same. I have one of the yards that is all garden.

I wonder if the peacock has had as much fun on the loose as we have had having him on the loose.

Who knows why he did it, but he sure generated a lot of excitement.
