New Polar Bear Cub
#1
The Toronto Zoo is having a busy year.  Now the Polar bear female Aurora has had twins.  Sadly one didn't make it, but the other little one is hanging on. Mom so far has not raised her own cubs. She is an orphan herself so it isn't something she has had experience with even as a cub herself.

The surviving baby is a cute little bear. Baby Polar Bears are so sweet looking.

I saw this on tonights news, so didn't look at your links, I did see where the mom couldn't feed them, hopefully human
help will allow this cub to survive.

Oh, I do hope the surviving cub makes it. It must be very confusing for the mum. I know instinct kicks in but if you have no experience then it must be very hard for her.
Good Luck Mum and baby.
Greeting from Wales.

The zoo has raised two polar bear cubs from birth already. They also raised Aurora(mum), her sister Nikita and Inukshuk the dad, all of them orphans.

They turned out okay.

This link shows pictures of the older brother. He was such a cute bear and lives very happily in the facility in Winnipeg.

Right now conservation efforts and public exposure to the bears is one of the ways we can help save these bears from extinction due to habitat loss and climate change.

I hope the little one survives. Sounds like it has a good chance with the experience they have with them.

Polar bear cubs are very fragile at birth. They are so undeveloped. I think it took a lot of work to raise the other two cubs. I just hope they can work the magic again. This time it is a little girl. After two big males it would be nice to see a girl.

In this case, no news is good news. As long as we don't hear then the cub is fine.
