It is so sad when pet care takers pass away and then people get rid of the pets. I am so glad that Missy found a new home. I often see senior dogs on FB and share the post to try to get them rehomed.

Facebook and other social media sites are good for getting information out there to the public.
When it comes to rehoming and finding lost pets it is a great tool.

Yes, I find FB very helpful for spreading the word about animals! I sometimes even see petitions that were answered positively that I have shared on FB.

I think animal rights groups and ecology groups are really making good use of social media. We can spread a petition around the world in a day.
When it comes to the welfare of an individual animal, Facebook is even better. Many lost pets are found through Facebook. It is great that shelter pets can find homes through Facebook. It expands the number of people who know about the particular pet.

A really good use for social media.
I'm so glad the dog got the home she so richly deserves. Do you know if there have been any repercussions for the man who dropped her off?
If so then I hope they were commensurate with the degree of his neglect. If not then I hope his conscience troubles him for ever.

I like to think that out there is the person who dropped the animal off and they must be aware of all the Facebook publicity. Perhaps someone even posted it on their page saying isn't that the dog you got rid of.
I keep hoping that about my rescue guinea pigs. I would love the nasty woman to know that, not only are her former guinea pigs not dead, they are very much loved and cherished. They receive far better care and if they think of her they are glad to be free of her. I really hope she knows.
