I find the understanding that we need to say goodbye to our pets is very beneficial to those that are dying. I think it is helpful to the pet. They understand what is happening. The beloved owner does not just disappear. The pet knows that they are sick and dying. I am sure they are comforted by the visit too.

Yes, animals are a lot smarter than they are given credit for. They sense so many things and things we don't even know, too.

It gave the horse and the woman a sense of closure and it gave them a chance to say goodbye. That makes it easier to grieve. The horse knew why she didn't come back. That would make it easier for him to move on and bond with other people.
It is a kind thing to bring people and their pets together like that.

Yes, it's really good to bring them together. I hope if anything happens to me they will bring Suzy to see me.

A senior I worked with was in a nursing home in her last year. The family took her dog to visit regularly. The night she died, the family took the dog to see her and he lay on the bed and she had her hand on him when she died. I am sure it brought her peace to have him there and he wanted to be with her.
Places like nursing homes and hospitals are starting to understand to need to be comforted by a pet in the end. I am sure Suzy could visit you if you had to go to the hospital for any length of time.

Animals are just the greatest. I was very lonely before I got Suzy. I couldn't find a good man to go out with, and still haven't. But it doesn't bother me as much any more because I have Suzy and the birds. Suzy is my companion.

I think many people are turning to pets for companionship. Life is very complicated these days and when we come home and there is a gentle friend waiting for us, we are much happier.
Suzy is just what you needed. Other relationships come and go, but our pets are with us and share our lives.
We know what to expect from them and we can trust them. I think life would be harder for most of us if we did not have our pets.
