Geese shut down major Toronto Highway
#1
Today a family of geese on the move shut down a major Toronto road.  Drivers just had to wait while the police escorted the mother an babies across the road.

Geese and ducks are forever wandering across highways, even runways. Traffic always stops and drivers just have to wait. You can't hurry a goose and goslings.
I think it is s sign that we are okay when we are willing to shut down a major road while geese are crossing. If you don't have time to wait for a mother goose, what do you have time to wait for.

One of my Dad's favourite poems was Leisure by the Welsh poet W.H. Davies.
I think it sums up the sentiment exactly.

Whenever I see or hear of incidences like the Mother goose, this poem springs to mind.

The poem sums it up perfectly. The geese and ducks force us to stop and look once in a while. I think it is good that drivers have to stop for wildlife. They are not good at stopping for pedestrians and cyclists.
