Loka the Komodo Dragon is gone.

Loka was at the Toronto zoo for many years. I have spent hours watching her. She was so beautiful.
She was sent to Calgary zoo to live as a geriatric lizard. She just died at the age of thirty.
I know it is a good age for a Komodo Dragon, but I had hoped to visit her next year. Now she is gone.

She lived a very good life and she lived a long time. She will be missed.

She was special and beautiful. I like the thought of her running free. Mostly Komodo Dragons seem to like to lie in the sun, but Loka used to swim in the pond. She did very well for a lizard that started life in far away Indonesia and ended up in Canada.
