Groundhogs find an urban paradise
#1
We have many big groundhogs in Toronto and they are good at finding places to live. A group or them have set up burrows with entrances in the grassy area between the north and southbound lanes of one of our major highways.  They have lots of room. There is plenty of food. Because it is between the lanes of the highway the groundhogs are protected. None of their usual predators can get anywhere near them.

I guess the only down side is the noise of the traffic. However they can build deep burrows so they are most likely too deep to hear a sound.  Very clever of them.
