World Rabies Day!
#1
Today is world Rabies day. This is so important for pet owners. We have had the means to protect out pets for many years and yet animals still die of rabies. Rabies is transmitted to humans and it is estimated that 60,000 people die of rabies each year.
It is possible to treat people after exposure so there should be no  or very few rabies deaths ever.

The recommendations for protecting our pets are very good. If our pets are protected then we are protected. Protecting individual pets helps reduce the possibility of transmission.  We have the ability to prevent rabies one vaccinated pet at a time.  There are even programs to vaccinate wildlife. If we keep working at it we should be able to stop rabies from spreading.
