Australian Government opens door to killing wildlife
#1
The current Australian Government is making changes in laws that effect the wellbeing of many animals. In particular it will be possible to kill local wildlife. No records will be kept so there will be no way to know how badly a species is being devastated until it is almost wiped out. There will be no consequences for killing these animals.

I haven't been following the issue, but this seems like a very bad thing. Whenever you just let people kill things, some people will do just that. Many animals will suffer and the overall biodiversity will be compromised.  This could be an ecological disaster in the making. It is the natural balance of animals in the ecosystem that keeps things stable. Killing a lot of one species can have unforeseen consequences. I don't know if there is a way to stop this. I hope there is.
