Water for pigs trial
#1
We have posted about the original story where Anita Kraknc gave water to pigs bound for slaughter and was charged with mischief. The trial is going on right now.

The more they proceed with charges against Anita, the bigger the movement grows in support of her. It has pulled a number of animal rights groups together and given them a focal point for their protests.

It is certainly bringing the issue of animal slaughter and how the animals are treated right out into the public eye. It also is the age old issue of someone willing to be martyred for a cause. Anita is willing to go to jail. If people are not sure she is right, her willingness to be "martyred" will be enough to convince them.

Their chant "Compassion is not a crime" is a powerful message and it is getting heard right across the country. If the truck driver wanted to stop her, he chose the wrong way to do it.
