I am sorry to hear about your cousin, Ruth, and sorry he was so terribly ill.
You are right....he is in peace now and no longer in any pain. I wish him blessings.
It seems Carrie Fisher had an incredibly strong bond with her mother. That happened with my grandparents (father's side) They passed away within one day of each other.
I will tell you a little story about my parents. My Dad passed in 1999. My mother soldiered on, but was never terribly well, and got dementia on top of other things in her late 80s. Towards the end of her life she was in a hospice. She did not know night from day, couldn't remember my Dad, or ever having been married, or what his name was.
Well when I visited her one day she said, "Your Dad (and she said his name) came to see me last night. He sat on my bed and said, 'Come on, why don't you come with me now?' ....and I laughed and said 'No not right now, but I won't be long. I've got something to do first'. Then he told me that was okay, and he was waiting for me, and then he slowly went away again."
Two minutes after telling me that she was back to her usual state of mind and couldn't remember one thing.
She passed away about 2 weeks later.
