I was at work and noticed this guy running around the parking lot. Come to find out he was a stray. There was a guy that had found him and was waiting for his realtor to bring a scanner to see if he was chipped. She just happened to also work with a rescue.
Well a friend and myself waited with them until she showed up. No chip of course. A new black collar with no tags. And not neutered yet. He had been roaming around a church for about 3 days and I know this guy took him in and had had him about 3 days. It seems like this dog had been dumped or that the owners just didn't care that he had gone missing. Signs had been posted around the church and no one in the church knew where he belonged.
I had to go back to work but I exchanged my number with them because I needed to help this dog find his owners or at least a home. I had already sent out messages and calls to my fiance, Kasey, and his dad. I hoping we could at least foster him. The rescue lady was more than willing to have me foster him and put him up on all the adoption sites.
So back at work I continued to talk to Kasey about the dog. The conversation was a lot of well if we foster him I'd rather just keep him. And his dad's only concern was that there would be someone at the house to care for him. I wasn't hearing a no on taking him in.
Well we pick him up tomorrow and get to bring him home.
Kasey said, "I get to name him right?"
Which I responded with, "We will both suggest names and agree together."
I like picking names based on personality. We have a list and it's really interesting how of all the different names we suggested that Shepard was on both our lists for different reasons.

Mulder
Loki
We will of course continue to look for owners but after a week it's already to the point of needing a permanent home which Kasey and I are more than willing to give him. If something falls though and we do find his owners Kasey has already said we just need to go ahead and get a dog. I already know of several that need homes.
