Giraffe birth watch
#1
April the Giraffe is due to deliver and they have set up a camera so we can watch. There is no way of knowing when so any time you tune in might be the moment. That would be special.

It is late in our time zone and she seems to be sleeping. I probably should be doing the same, but instead I am watching a giraffe sleeping.

There was an app created for April to notify people exactly when she is in active labour and going to give birth. So people don't have to watch incessantly

When they say there is an app for that they mean it. I like the t-shirts too.
This may be the most watched birth on the planet.

It would help to get a giraffe labour alert. After all, she may give birth in the night. I might get up to see the birth, but I don't want to sit up night after night.

Thank-you for finding the link.

I watched Alice for a little while. She was standing -eating? I couldn't see her head. She was quite still, but moved her feet a little bit.
It was a treat to see her.
Her baby seems a little 'high' at the moment, so I think perhaps when her belly drops a bit lower, the birth will be imminent.

I checked in and she is still doing the same things. Her belly is big and it looked like the baby might be moving a bit. I am sure it is getting hard for her to be comfortable.  I think they give birth standing up so as long as she is on her feet she could be ready to deliver.

I am sure we can see the video after the fact, but I would love to watch it live.

The answer is, no she hasn't had her baby yet. The original link to the cam is not working so I have a new link.
I understand that she is very close to delivering. One article said she is producing milk so it won't be long now.

It is night now so she is very quiet. I am sure we will see her with a baby soon enough.
