Most countries have very poor regulations concerning animals being transported to slaughterhouses. Canada has terrible laws and regulations. If they can even be called regulations. I think the general rule is whatever makes the most money. The needs or suffering of the animals is not even considered.

For a country that claims to be humane and is known for its politeness, Canada, my country is failing badly.
This failure rates up there with the live export of animals from the EU. We claim to care about animal welfare, but we don't act like we do. I believe Canada does live export, but I don't think it is to the middle east. The distance would make it unprofitable.
If we could do it cheaply we probably would.
