Vet donates money to get a dog back to his family
#1
Mavi the dog went missing from a small Manitoba town. He turned up in Winnipeg and ended up at a shelter and was adopted out. His family found his whereabouts just as he was adopted out. It is hard to get a dog back after adoption papers have been signed. A Winnipeg vet gave $1000.00 to the adopting family, to return the dog. They accepted and Mavi was on his way home.

I am happy the family got their dog back. That was very generous of the vet to help like that. It is always a difficult situation. People have chosen a dog and brought him home as part of their family. They know the dog had a previous owner. It seems unfair to ask them to return the dog, but it is heartbreaking for the family who lost the dog to know he has been found and yet they can't have him back.
I am glad this time it was resolved so well.  The people who took Mavi into their home can adopt another dog and I hope they do so. It would be sad if this experience prevented them from having a dog.
Still, there is a three year old child who has her dog back.
