Baby Beluga Whale rescued...reunited with other whales
#1
A young Beluga whale was stuck in a river in New Brunswick. He couldn't survive there so he was carried out and airlifted to Quebec, to the St Lawrence river. It was an exciting rescue and it seems to have been a successful one. The whale has joined a group of other young whales around his own size.

Getting the whale safely moved was remarkable and all who helped in the rescue are to be commended. Having him join other whales so soon is a real bonus. It is too soon to be sure, but it looks good for his survival.

It was great that he was rescued. He seems to have traveled very well. Having him connect with other whales is the key to his survival. I think they are really learning how to rescue whales. They looked for a group of whales before they put him back in the ocean. They have a transmitter on him so maybe we will hear more about him in future. I would love to know how life works out for him.
