Yulin Petitions
#1
In spite of improvements in the situation, the Yulin Dog meat festival is still going on.
It is important that we keep the pressure on with petitions and protests.

Some people are already thinking ahead to next year.

People in China don't want Yulin.

It is time this brutal practise was stopped. We need to keep up the pressure. Some day this will be a thing of the past. I can't wait for someday

Thank you Catherine, for those links. I was under the impression a halt had been called to eating dogs at Yulin this year....that's obviously not so.
I am glad to hear there is a lot of protest coming from within China. Bless all those there who are fighting to get this stopped.

I signed all the petitions -of course.

Yulin is still happening. There are some restrictions, but not much. We can still help by our petitions. They let China know how we feel. The government will feel pressured. The protesters will know we are supporting them

It will take years to stop the dog meat trade. When enough people in China are against it there will be change. I think supporting the issue and keeping it public is the best way to hurry the change. We can't all go there and fight in person, but we can let people know that we want to.

I did find a current article about Yulin.

There is no doubt that there is a real fight going on. There are some great young people working to save the dogs and stop the slaughter. These people are real heroes and there is hope for the future in a world that has such people in it.

I read an article last night about the fight against the dog meat trade that many Chinese people are involved in. Bless their Souls!

Many of those people may even have had their own dogs stolen by the butchers.

I think we are seeing a fight between the generations. There is a new and modern China that wants to be part of the outside world and have the same standards. Then there is the type of people that would torture an animal because they thing it will taste better. The two mind sets are totally opposed and cannot coexist for long. Yulin and other dog meat situations will end.
It is not just a matter of eating meat. Yulin involves stolen pets and serious animal abuse.

Many activists probably have lost pets or know of pets that are lost. They save as many as they can, but it would be so hard to know that your own pet ended up like that.  No doubt they are already thinking of how to fight for next year.  I wish them every success.
