Right Whale deaths, a tragic loss to an endangered species
#1
North Atlantic right whales are very endangered and sadly a number have been found dead in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. A little over 500 of the whales are left so losing 6 whales in a short time is a terrible loss to the species.

Two of the whales died from blunt trauma. A third whale died as a result of entanglement. Both causes are of human origin.
If we don't work hard to protect them we will have been the cause of the loss of a beautiful intelligent species.

We have hunted them to the edge of extinction and our careless loss of fish nets tangles and kills whales every year. We need to act quickly to help the whales. We need to change how we treat our oceans and their inhabitants while we still have time.
