More Right Whale deaths
#1
Right Whales have an estimated population of 500. Since early June there have been 10 deaths.
The bodies are being examined when possible to determine the cause of death.
Some changes have been made to the shipping lanes and fishing areas to try and counteract what ever is happening.

When a whale with such a small population experiences a die off, it is a serious business.  There is concern that it is human activity that is to blame. Some of the dead whales had trauma that could be caused by a collision with a ship. Until we   get actual test results we are not sure. I hope the measures taken are enough and that they are the right ones.  All the years that humans hunted these whales  have left them with a small vulnerable population. We are most likely to blame.

I hope we can do something to fix the problem.
