American Prairie Reserve buys 46,000 more acres
#1
The American Prairie Reserve has a goal of connecting smaller reserves into a large stretch of land where buffalo and other prairie species can live naturally.
This current purchase brings the land size to 399,000 acres.
Right now there are 1,000 Bison, but when the reserve is complete it will be possible to have 10,000 Bison.

As a girl from the prairies this makes me very happy. I have never seen the wild prairies the way they are meant to be. There are so many species that will thrive again if a stretch of actual prairie habitat is allowed to exist. There are smaller prairie reserves, but this will be big enough for herds of Buffalo(Bison) to roam as they are meant to.

Add this to the list of vacation spots I would want to visit.

Can you imagine 10,000 Bison roaming freely!  Heart I get all chocked up just thinking about it.
