How lovely to know you had 12 wonderful years with Jet.
Even more wonderful is the fact that so many will get to know him through your book.
While he may be gone we will never be forgotten.

That's true. Jet won't be forgotten. I promised him I won't forget him.
I did a 'dog whispering' thing on him the last few weeks before he passed.
"Tell me what you're feeling," I asked.
"I feel trapped in this body," he 'answered'. Those words came to my mind ever so quickly.
And he lay there outside the farm, panting. I told him about the Rainbow Bridge and the fields there, and the kind souls.
He wasn't a kissable sort of dog. Not if you didn't want to catch e-coli, Cryptosporidium, etc. But I gave him a kiss anyway. Right between his ears was usually the cleanest place.

I am glad you were there to ease his spirit. I think being there for an animal that is dying is a special calling. You have a gentle and loving spirit and you are right, Black Wolf Jet will not be forgotten.
