Animal Abuse registry, a protection for us all

The subject of an animal abuse registry comes up every time there is an incident where the perpetrator was known to abuse animals. This time it is the school shooting in Florida. Next time it will be somewhere else and it will be the same thing. The person who committed the violence will turn out to have a history of abusive behavior towards animals.

It is time we all took this seriously. Some American States are considering registries. I have no word of such a thing in Canada.
Now there are people calling for a registry in England.

If we only made note of serious abuse cases we would still be more aware of danger than we are now. 
Animal abuse should be dealt with for its own sake, but protecting ourselves should give us more incentive to protect animals.

I think there should be a Global registry for some crimes. People travel to easily from one place to another. Animal abuse is a sign of a deeply disturbed person. We have a right to know and protect ourselves. In some ways we have an obligation. Too many people are being killed by someone who gave every indication of being a danger.
