Trapped dolphins rescued
#1
Six white beaked dolphins were trapped by ice in a shallow harbour off of Newfoundland. People feared for their safety, especially when the wind shifted and closed the dolphins in even more. A quick thinking Fire Chief used an excavator to break up the ice and free the dolphins.

This is such good news. Many times it has been impossible to free trapped animals no matter how hard people have tried.

I am thinking this is a reality of living in some areas. Every year some animals get trapped or beach themselves and need to be rescued. It is commendable how well local people respond to such happenings. I am glad this time they had a happy ending.

Great news - and a wonderful fire chief! The name of the place where this took place? Heart's Delight. How appropriate!

Heart's Delight is definitely a name that makes you want to go there.

They would have had limited resources and yet they still managed to rescue the dolphins. I would never have thought of using an excavator to break up ice. There are some pretty resourceful people in Newfoundland.
