I love your pictures! I am the reptile lover on the forum and so is Libby. She will love your pictures.
I had a Sun Skink once and skinks are my favourite lizard family.
Where were you that you were able to get such a range of reptile pictures?

Your own reptiles are beautiful. You got good hatchling pictures. You are a better photographer than I am.
Are they this year's hatchlings?  My eggs are not due to hatch until July.

Welcome to the forum by the way. You can tell I am really excited about your pictures.

The eggs are from a 2013 clutch (the same clutch Kevin hatched from, as well as Eddy and Rupert who I've not posted pics of yet), I don't breed anymore as I no longer have the space but my girl still lays her eggs regardless each year.

The first 3 wild reptile shots were photographed in Borneo and the Curly-tailed lizard is in Cuba.

The Caiman Lizard was photographed at Ueno Zoo, Japan, and the other Zoo reptiles were at Jersey Zoo (Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust).

I've got other animal photos I might share later Smile

You actually saw a skink in the wild. Wow. You have some very  good pictures.

That was a beautiful clutch. No wonder you kept Kevin. He has good colour and markings. It looks like the whole clutch was very beautiful. It looks like one of them might have been black.
I love the first look at eggs that are hatching. Sometimes something hatches that I wasn't expecting.
The girls do seem to keep on laying eggs all their lives. Is your girl still laying large numbers of eggs or has she started to taper off.
I have someone to take my hatchlings so I incubate all my clutches. I am producing about 100 eggs a year now. I have grandbaby snakes now. Two that I bred and now producing their own hatchlings.
It is special to have a snake that you raised from an egg. Kevin has always been with you. You must be very close.
I know I am close to the ones I raised.

Eddy has laid her largest clutches this year so seems to be increasing in reproductivity but she is only 5.

Kevin also has a kink in his spine bless him, but luckily it doesn't effect his health whatsoever. He's one of my larger, chunkier snakes, and has a very sweet personality. When I let him out he usually takes himself back to his own enclosure too. I've also kept a few other snakes from that clutch, Eddy by far has the strongest personality!

I did a Punnett square to look at the probabilities of what colours were likely my snakes were able to produce.

Capital letter is a dominant trait and lower case is recessive

R/r represents red pigment and B/b represents black pigment

Benny (normal HET Amel): BbRr                      JD (Amel HET Anery): bbRr

All possibilities of JD and Benny's offspring

             | BR     | Br     | bR     | br
-----------------------------------------------
bR         | BbRR | BbRr  | bbRR | bbRr
-----------------------------------------------
br          | BbRr  | Bbrr  | bbRr  | bbrr
-----------------------------------------------
bR         | BbRR | BbRr | bbRR | bbRr
-----------------------------------------------
br          | BbRr  | Bbrr | bbRr  | bbrr

Normal corn HET Amel/Poss-HET Anery = 6 (BbRR/ BbRr/ BbRR)
Amel corn Poss-HET Anery = 6 (bbRr/ bbRR)
Anery corn HET Amel = 2 (Bbrr)
Snow corn-(Homozygous-Amel+Homozygous-Anery) = 2 (bbrr)

So there's a 6/16 chance of the snakes producing a normal
6/16 chance of producing an Amel
2/16 chance of producing an anery
and 2/16 chance of producing a snow

Gorgeous photographs. Are you a professional, by any chance? Because if not, you certainly could be. The Caiman lizard is a beauty! I've never seen one before.

You have some beautiful pets. The hatching photos are so sweet and pure.
