However you plan to celebrate it, enjoy! It is a fun day and our canine friends would want us to have fun.

I found a list of gifts your furry friend might want. Some of them look pretty good.

I am sure a big hug would make your dog just as happy.

Gosh! Dog-Day! Greetings and blessings to all dogs!

Then there are the "Dog days" a period of time during summer (in the northern hemisphere) which were called that by Greeks, Romans, and I think the Egyptians.
This time marked the rising of the dog star, Sirius. When it became noticeable in the night sky.

There's some information on Wikipedia here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_days

That ran from some time approximately beginning of July through to just beyond the middle of August.

Both Misty and I were born in the dog days. So you see, dogs have more than ONE day to celebrate which is a good excuse for lots of dog treats!

I did not realize why the summer days were called the dog days, but I have seen Sirius in the sky.
Dogs get the whole summer in other words. We just choose one day to make it more special.

Dogs are so good they deserve all the treats they get and more.
So Happy Dog Days to all the dogs out there.
