Saving the Newfoundland Pony
#1
There is a special breed of horses living on the Rock, Newfoundland that is. They are actually ponies and their numbers had declined dangerously. The Newfoundland Pony Society has worked to preserve the animals and has been buying ponies destined for slaughter. Now they have been given a 50 year lease on 10 hectares of crown land.

It is fantastic news about the land. It is enough land to provide a proper sanctuary and breeding grounds. for the ponies.
The Newfoundland Pony Society has also worked the get them banned as meat animals.  It seems the future of the ponies is hopeful. Which is fitting since the sanctuary is in Hopeall Newfoundland.
