Search for the owner of a dog hit by a car
#1
In Toronto a dog was hit by a car on Sunday. He was so scared he hid under a bus that was stopped. The driver noticed and called for help. The police and Animal Services managed to coax the animal out. His leg is injured, but he is going to be okay.
Now they need to find his owner.

It seems the dog was out and about on its own. It didn't have a collar or ID tags and it wasn't microchipped.
So far no one has come forward to claim him. Maybe he is a stray or an abandoned dog. If that is true then hopefully someone will adopt him.

What a nice dog. I hope his people can be found. Posters in the area might help, plus putting the story out in local newspapers & social media of course, might help.

Some dogs are still loved even though they haven't got collar tags or microchip (even though they should have).
He might not be a long term stray because he doesn't sound as if he's very street-wise. He might have escaped from someone's garden, got confused, etc.
Or the other sad possibility is he was dumped out of a car.
If so, then it's likely he will have some other health problems....possibly requiring expensive surgery or treatments.

I hope there is a good happy ending for this dog.

Good News!  The dog's name is Sober and his people were looking for him. They picked him up on Monday morning.

We don't know how he got out, but you are right, he wasn't a street wise dog. He didn't know what to do once he was out.
This is a good time to mention that even though social media got him home safely, a microchip would have been faster.
