Haven't Been Here In Quite Awhile
#6
It's so nice to see you back, Ruth. I am just sorry you have had health problems, and hope that your new diet will help very much.
The liver can be quite forgiving, and to some extent regenerate. Some scarring may not go away, but general liver function can be greatly improved by a change of lifestyle.
At first a "diet" can be really hard as you have to read labels, think about everything. But after a while it comes as second-nature.

There's some more information in the page below, which concerns natural medicine and herbs to help regenerate the liver function:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5442075/

One staple herb for liver support which may be very helpful is Milk Thistle (Silybum Marianum) But of course ask your doctor first. It has a good reputation for liver rejuvenation. It is a very safe herb and can even be used for dogs and other animals! Many vets recommend it when there are any problems.

It's great to have you back with us, and to see Suzy....in your laundry basket! And your lovely birds.
Take care and best wishes. Heart
