Service dogs for veterans are in short supply and cost $15,000 each. The charity Wounded Warriors Canada is calling on the government to help fund the program and make more dogs available.

It has been shown that the dogs really help soldiers with PTSD. They succeed where medications fail. Pairing a veteran with a dog transforms his/her life. People who were not able to function, now are more active and have quality of life.
Dogs save lives and dogs transform lives.
Governments waste money of so many things that are of little value. Why are they hesitating to invest in something that will do so much good.
This situation is true in Canada. No doubt veterans in other countries would benefit from service dogs too.
This should be a world wide program that all veterans can call on.
