Sun Conures are beautiful! (I only know the green ones) KK is a lovely bird and so well tamed.
You know it was inevitable that you would take KK. There is no point in fighting it. The bird needed a good home and you and Kasey are the right people to do it. I am sure you will handle the transition very well and the bird will settle in with no trouble.
Having the birds things will make it feel more at home. KK already knows you and likes you so that helps.
I don't know if we are ever ready for yet another rescue or rehoming. We just do it because it needs to be done.
The bird is not a baby anymore, but could still live 35 years or more. You are young enough to be there for all of KK's life.
You wanted a bird and KK is a beautiful bird. It is a perfect match. Congratulations and all the best in bringing home your newest family member.
When I glanced at the tittle of this thread, I thought you got another dog. The fact that it was a bird thread should have tipped me off.
