China steps closer to banning animal testing
#1
China hasn't yet banned all animal testing, but it has made a move in the right direction. They are no longer requiring testing of finished products (cosmetics and related products)being imported to China. Nor will they require testing of domestic products after production.

This is not a total ban on animal testing, but it saves the lives of many animals.
It also could open China as a market for cruelty free products.  Once it becomes obvious that  testing on animals is not needed they can move towards a total ban of animal testing. That would open up markets for Chinese products in places that reject animal testing.

I like to think of this as a snowball rolling downhill. It picks up snow and becomes bigger and bigger as it moves. As animal testing is banned more and more countries are banning testing and more and more countries are moving towards banning animal testing.  Someday all animal testing will stop. Until then we are watching the spread of animal testing bans. The snowball is to big to stop now.
