Koala found screwed to a pole

This actually happened a while ago, but they are searching for the perpetrator. Someone literally took building screws and attacked the koala to a wooden post. The animal did have trauma, but it is not clear if it was alive when this was done.

There have been some shocking acts against koalas. They have been shot and run over and killed by dogs. This is the most bizarre and cruel. I just hope putting the image out there helps to catch the person or persons who did this.

How terrible, and sad.

My feeling is that the poor Koala was likely to have been killed prior to being screwed onto the pole. Unless the animal had been knocked out or was already dead, as it would be very difficult to do that with a living animal in terror and pain.

I used to find Crows strung up with wires and strings onto a fence. There would be a whole line of them in different stages of decay, so added at different times.
This was a horribly sad thing to find, but I discovered that farmers had shot them, then hung them up after they were dead.
It was intended as a deterrent to other Crows entering that area.
Farmers often did that around lambing fields.
I will add that didn't happen in the area I live now but in the mountains where I used to live.

There is something nasty about mistreating the dead body of an animal. It is like taking revenge on a poor creature that they probably killed in the first place. It does not make the person who did it look like a decent person. Whether it was the Koala or the Crows whoever did it is not someone I would want to know.
