Earth Day 2019!
#1
Happy Earth Day 2019. This years theme is protect our species. Right now the Earth is facing an alarming rate of species extinctions. There have been extinctions before, but this time it is human activity that is causing these  extinctions. We can still do something and unless we do something the human legacy will be the destruction of biodiversity.

Rising CO2 levels, rising temperatures and the climate change that results are threating to change the world for all of us. This isn't just about saving other species. We are going to be impacted along with the rest of the planet's species. We are all in this together. Changing our ways to reverse climate change or at least slow it down is for all of us.  There is no doubt that we are the cause of climate change.

Google has produced a very fine doodle for Earth day. I hope you get to see it.

The World Wildlife Federation is challenging us to use less water for a month. It is one thing we each can do to help the planet. I know I can save water. I don't waste much, but maybe it is time I stopped wasting any water.

WE are all going to need to do anything we can to help the planet. If we all do little things it does add up to a big thing.
It will also take governments and large corporations making changes and acting responsibly towards the environment.
We influence governments by voting and we influence corporations by what we buy and what services we purchase. We do have the power to change things if we act together and we act now.

Let's not let the earth down and let's not fail the other species who share this beautiful planet. They both need us right now.
Let's help make 2019 a better year for all of us.
