Fireman rescues pet from fire
#1
It seems fireman are willing to rush into burning buildings to rescue any living creature.

Yes, he rescued a snake and he knew it was a snake when he went in there. You will notice that the snake was aware of the fire and was trying to escape his terrarium. He wanted to live as much as any creature trapped in a fire. Well done to the fireman that he was willing to do this. And well done, he knew how to handle a snake. I love how he is holding the snake to his body protectively. The snake is safer that way and it would feel reassured. Snakes get scared too.

A bit of a follow up article. The snake was actually a Boa, she was a girl and her name is Chocolate chip. Interestingly, the story was popular.

So the fact that it was an animal rescue story trumped the fact that it was about a reptile.

Maybe in future, firefighters should be given some time to learn about reptiles, to help in reptile rescues. I would be glad to help and so would anyone I know who has reptiles. We love our snakes and want to help in any way possible.

Well done, that man!! Fire fighters really seem to be the heroes, don't they? and it's great to see that they will go back in for any life, though why a reptile should be considered less worthy I have no idea.
They aren't my type of pet but every life is worth saving, surely?

The news coverage has been good even though it is a snake. As you say there is no reason why a reptile should be considered less worthy of being saved.
They even did a follow up. The snake was not a Python, it was actually a Colombian Boa, it is actually a girl and her name is Chocolate Chip. Her owner was very happy to see her and she was very happy to see the firefighter.

Reptiles usually get bad publicity. Just once I was happy to see a positive story. It was touching to see how the fireman carried the snake. Heart That made me want to cry. It was kind to hold her so she would feel safe.
