World Dog Day

I am a day late, but my computer was acting up and I had to shut it down for awhile. I think I fixed it so all is well.

Dogs deserve all the recognition they can get. Dogs give so much to us as pets. They also give so much as working dogs. 
They protect us, they support us and they guide us when we have needs. They are our ears and eyes and they can even warn us about things like seizures. The search for the lost and find things like drugs that are hidden. They even work in the police and the military. 
Dogs do so much that they should get a whole week, not just a day.

Maybe we should have dog month. I don't even have a dog and dogs are still special to me. If someone gets on the bus or the subway suddenly a tedious commute becomes a trip full of possibility. All the dog has to do is sit there and  look cute and the whole trip is brighter.  Let's face it, dogs light up a room when they walk in.

So for the rest of the month I want to tell the dogs that I encounter, Happy Dog Day and Thanks for being Dogs.
