Wheekstock-a Guinea Pig Picnic
#1
In Toronto today they held an event known as Wheekstock. It is a picnic or rather Pignic for guinea pig lovers and their piggies.

This event has been held successfully for a number of years.

This is the first time I have spent hours in the company of people who love guinea pigs and want to talk about them.
People really did bring their guinea pigs.  Some had fancy guinea pig carriers and strollers others were carried in simple cardboard boxes. All were clearly well loved. They had runs on the grass that guinea pigs could play in and plenty of treats.

The costume contests were fun. Piggies in costumes are cute, but they also had a prize for the best matching people/piggie costumes. People really did dress up to match their piggies. There were some good products for sale. So yes I brought home a pile of treats for my boys. I also got a pottery guinea pig that reminded me of Murray(he has been gone for years, but I still miss him)
I got a guinea pig frig magnet and a piggie note pad. The real prize for me was finding a pair of socks with guinea pigs on them.
I love interesting socks. Piggie socks are a perfect treat for me.

The whole event was focused on guinea pigs and that is all we talked about. There wasn't even one human food vendor. It was all about the piggies.

I think I have found a  new annual event to attend. Maybe some year I can take on of my guinea pigs.

It was on the far side of town from me so I learned about a whole new neighbourhood.
