This is the third year of World Gorilla Day. It is a day to recognize gorillas and their importance and it is a day to plan ways to help gorillas survive.
This years challenge was to collect old cell phones. The program was called "Gorillas on the line...Answer the call"
Over 12000 phones were collected and over $6,000 was raised. This exceeded expectations.

The new challenge for this year is to collect old cell phones and hand held electronics like tablets and mp3 players. I am sure most of us have some stuff lying around that we don't know what to do with. Check your local zoo, they probably have a cell phone drop off box. Make this a year to help the gorillas and clear out some things that are just collecting dust.
If we all give a little it can add up to a lot.
