An estimated 200,000 animals ranging from goats to rats were butchered during the last two-day Gadhimai festival in 2014, held in honor of the Hindu goddess of power.

We are very much aware of the Gadhimai Festival. We talked about it this time and we talked about it last time. We have posted and signed petitions. In spite of government bans the festival still went ahead. They do believe there were less animals slaughtered this time.

This year is over. It is time to start preparing to block the festival in 2024. I am sure the activists in the area are hard at work already.
It takes years, but some day this madness will end.
