Yellowstone Bison cull.
#1
Sad
Every year at Yellowstone Park in Montana, they arrange to cull around a thousand Bison. Some are killed by hunters and some are shipped to slaughterhouses. It has been decided that only a certain number of Bison should be allowed to roam in the park.
Usually this is a very secret cull, but this time they shot two Bison in front of tourists.

The cull is controversial. The local ranchers want the Bison numbers to be low because they are afraid they will leave the park and mingle with cattle. The park is big enough for all the bison and there is no need to kill any of them. It is especially nasty to send wildlife, like Bison, to a slaughterhouse.

They do not even try and find other solutions. There are other places that would like to restore bison herds.  I am sure if they tried they would find places that  would want the Bison. There is no need to cruelly slaughter them.
