Animal Cruelty in a coffee cup

How is a cup of coffee cruel to animals? Well you might ask. The world's most expensive coffee is also its cruelest. Kopi Luwak is made from coffee beans that have been eaten by Civets and pooped out. In nature there would be very little of this happening so it would not be commercially viable. However when there is money to be made people will find a way. Civets are kept in large numbers in factory farms. They are feed coffee beans and little else. The beans are harvested from their poop and sold for a large profit. Tourist coffee shops display civets and sell the coffee for high prices.  These  civets lead miserable lives all for the sake of tourism and profit.
TripAdvisor sells tickets on coffee tours where people see the civets and drink the coffee.

It is time this cruel industry was stopped. It exploits animals for the sake of human greed. Everyone profits, but the civets.
It is time for the animal exploitation to stop.

By selling tickets on coffee tours, TripAdvisor makes itself a party to a cruel industry. It is time they stopped promoting anything that profits from animal cruelty.

To be honest, I can't imagine why anyone picked coffee beans out of an animals poop in the first place. It is yet another weird thing that people do that should be stopped.
