Dog rescue operation in fatal crash
#1
Ann Watson founder of Who Saved Who Rescue, Phoenix and her partner Christopher Kracht and 14 rescue dogs were killed in a crash on the highway in Idaho.
They were driving 48 dogs from Phoenix to Calgary for adoption.  Sixteen dogs are still missing, but the rest survived and are being cared for by local rescue groups. This is a sad day for the dog rescue world. Two dedicated rescuers have been lost and a number of wonderful dogs who were hoping for good homes in Calgary. The couple leave behind two little girls who are now orphaned.

This is a very sad accident. Their trip was a journey of hope for so many dogs and it ended in such loss for everyone who knew them.
There are always risks when you rescue animals, but somehow this is way more than anything that could have been predicted. I know they will find the missing dogs eventually. The surviving dogs will be okay and they will find good homes. The rescue will carry on its good work, but the loss of two wonderful people is a sadness that will touch many for a long time. They would have done so much more good if they had more time. It is a senseless tragedy. It seems unfair that people doing so much good on a mission of kindness should be lost so suddenly. Smiley19
