The Animal Food Bank
#1
Last December A. J. Frey and Nicole Wilks of Okanagan B.C. started an animal food bank after an encounter with a  homeless man and his dog. They wondered how the man would feed his dog. With the help of food donations and dedicated volunteers they created a food bank to feed people's pets. They don't ask questions or require proof of need. You ask you get food. They even deliver.
Now they have expanded from B.C. to Calgary.

This is something I hope really expands. There is need everywhere for help feeding pets in a crisis. The pandemic is a major crisis for many people right now. However when it is over, there will still be need for help for some people. There will always be people who have lost a job or had a financial crisis and they don't have any money for pet food. If there is somewhere that can give people pet food right away when they need it, they would be so much better off. That would be one problem solved, one big stress removed. In a crisis our pets help us cope. If there is a way to feed them then they can still be there for us.
I hope the Animal Food Bank is able to grow and expand to other cities where they are needed.
