Financial help for vets bills is available
#1
There are times when a pet gets sick and we just don't have the money to pay for treatment. There are groups that will provide help.
This thread is going to list the sites that we know about. If we find new sites we will add them. If anyone else knows of a site that provides help please post it here.

UK: Blue Cross    https://www.bluecross.org.uk/

RSPCA https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/team-b...-benefits/

USA: https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/...g-your-pet

France: https://www.la-spa.fr/aide-contact/sujet...-que-faire

Canada: https://www.farleyfoundation.org/

As we find more we will post more.

Thank you so much for this Catherine. I am sure it will help many people and animals.

I will add one (in the UK):
PDSA (Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals)
https://www.pdsa.org.uk/taking-care-of-y...ligibility

There is an online form to fill in to check for eligibility for this scheme. It used to be that anyone receiving housing benefit and on low income or benefits would qualify, but it's possible the criteria have changed now.

It is very helpful, but works a little like insurance -that is it covers accidents and emergencies but not regular care such as worming, vaccinations etc. And there may be some limits re: a previously diagnosed disease. I am unsure.

Thank-you Tobi for an addition to the list. I am sure it will help someone in need.

Catslave, you were wise to take out insurance on Edward. You never know when something can happen.

Our Humane  Society has a low cost vet clinic. I know they do vaccinations and neutering at reduced cost. I am not sure what else they do. They do take in injured animals, but the owner probably has to surrender the pet if they can't afford a vet. People don't want to give up their pets. That is the point of groups that help with vets bills. They enable people to keep their pets.

I will do some more research and see if I can find more links.
